Last time we talked about NYC Midnight’s short screenplay writing contest:
“Last year I entered the NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Contest. Why? I wanted a challenge, and I wanted to try something new.
I am once again signing up for this contest! Our first challenge releases this Friday at midnight (EST). I can not wait to see how I do this year and see how much I’ve improved.”

I enjoyed the read. How’d this script work out for you in the contest?

Thank you! Unfortunately, this one did not do so well in the contest.

I enjoyed the screenplay. Interesting premise and nice layout on the formatting. Liked the directives (e.g., montage). You might more of the camera shots (e.g., aerial shot of drive-in; close up of mom with watch). Thanks for sharing!

Thanks!! I don’t know if they want camera cues in the script… 🤔
